She grabbed Shinu by the scruff and set her in an area surrounded by rocks, making escape impossible. She turned to Rex and put him in a separate area also surrounded by rocks.

He lay down on a small hay nest and took a nap.

(they are five feet wide and long, but they are surrounded by rocks so the pups can't leave)

She put her ears down and gave a nervous smile Cooper would when he was in trouble.
